Remember the case that came with the classic APAC N95? It was a nice looking case (not too mention the fact that it was included for free), but the linings came of sticking to the back of the N95, creating a difficult-to-remove stain. Darla reported the same thing here. A new problem seems to be affecting the much newer N95 8GB and its case, the Nokia CP-235. I did a review of the case here: not only is it a durable case, it’s also the best looking case I’ve ever seen for the N95 8GB. The combo of the N95 8GB and the CP-235 case are real head turners. On the other hand the case is hard to open due to its stiff faux leather material, there isn’t a belt clip and Camera capture key, gallery key and IR-port are only accessible when the case is opened.
I recently noticed that a few scratched had developed on the sliding part of the N95 8GB, due to maybe the case being too tight and the sliding part scratching when you slide it up or down. Another possibility might be that when you take the phone out it scratches, but I’m willing to bet on the first possibility. The scratches are visible but this definitely not something I would expect it to do. This can be alleviated a bit by pushing the sides that hold on to the sliding part of the phone upwards, making the distance between it and the phone larger. This makes the chances of the case scratching the phone much smaller. Nokia can you please do long-term real-world testing of these cases before you bring them out. Have you had problems with the N95 and its APAC case or the N95 8GB and the CP-235?
