More carrying options for the N95 8GB

Cp282_312x312_2 Nokia has released another set of N95 8GB cases, this time the CP-282 and CP-266, bringing the total amount of cases for the N95 8GB with Nokia’s blessings to 9. The CP-282 has a built-in belt loop and protective super fiber lining. The molded grey textile, and black leather designs on the CP-266 both incorporate a sturdy leather belt loop to securely harness the device. No words on the pricing or availability, but if previous cases are any indication you can expect them to cost around $30+.

Nokia N82 stand finally available…well kinda

N82caseavailibilityBack in November of 2007 I attended the Nokia N82 launch in Finland. A little visit to the Nokia promo inside the actual Nokia Head Quarters led to me buying this incredibly nice looking Nokia metal stand that looks quite nice with the N82. Officially the stand is called the Nokia Phone Holder NK007044. I did a post showing the N82 with the metal stand, which I must admit looked quite good together. Following this post I got a few comments, several email and forums messages asking about this stand. As far as I knew this case was only available from the promo shop, but now you guys can finally get it online. The case doesn’t have the Nokia logo on it but as far as I can tell it’s the same case. I have never bought from this online store, but it’s worth a shot if you’re interested in this stand, not bad for 13 Pounds. This sort of interest for a stand should prove to Nokia that people really like these types of accessories included in product package. As I indicated in this post, Nokia should add more accessories in all Nseries packages, not just those for the APAC region. Thanks to Anna for the tip!

Nokia CP-235 cases scratching theN95 8GB?

N958gbscratchesRemember the case that came with the classic APAC N95? It was a nice looking case (not too mention the fact that it was included for free), but the linings came of sticking to the back of the N95, creating a difficult-to-remove stain. Darla reported the same thing here. A new problem seems to be affecting the much newer N95 8GB and its case, the Nokia CP-235. I did a review of the case here: not only is it a durable case, it’s also the best looking case I’ve ever seen for the N95 8GB. The combo of the N95 8GB and the CP-235 case are real head turners. On the other hand the case is hard to open due to its stiff faux leather material, there isn’t a belt clip and Camera capture key, gallery key and IR-port are only accessible when the case is opened.

N958gbscratches_2I recently noticed that a few scratched had developed on the sliding part of the N95 8GB, due to maybe the case being too tight and the sliding part scratching when you slide it up or down. Another possibility might be that when you take the phone out it scratches, but I’m willing to bet on the first possibility. The scratches are visible but this definitely not something I would expect it to do. This can be alleviated a bit by pushing the sides that hold on to the sliding part of the phone upwards, making the distance between it and the phone larger. This makes the chances of the case scratching the phone much smaller. Nokia can you please do long-term real-world testing of these cases before you bring them out. Have you had problems with the N95 and its APAC case or the N95 8GB and the CP-235?
